Training and Placement Cell
The Training & Placement Cell is managed by Ms Sayori Podder, Placement and Training Officer. Among the various training and placement activities the main focus areas are -To strive & build up strong industrial relations, find appropriate corporate mentors, assist students for their corporate recruitment, arrange summer internship, organise MDPs, invite corporates to campus for seminar and interaction with the students.
Training and placement cell is the bridge between BIMS and Corporate houses. To enhance the professional skill and etiquettes among the budding managers BIMS has introduced the “Corporate Mentor Scheme “ through which the classes/ sections have been divided into the different groups consisting of 10 members each and 2 groups have been allotted to one corporate mentor. To facilitate continuous interaction every Saturday has been kept as ‘Corporate Interaction Day’ and students are inviting corporate executives through different club activities. Students are also working on some live projects and survey works given by the mentors.
BIMS organizes frequent Industrial visits, preferably manufacturing industries so that the students are exposed to various practices and get acquainted with input – process – output. After the industrial visit they are preparing a report which is being kept in the Library for future references. Very recently Industrial Visits have been organized at Coca Cola plant Taratala, Kolkata and Priya Biscuits, Dankuni.
Alumninies of BIMS who are now in the corporate are also invited to interact with the students and share their experience of college life and present professional life. The basic objective of this interaction is to focus on what the fresher’s should do to become corporate ready.
For grooming the students and cracking the campus recruitment process, The Training and placement Cell is organizing mock GD and PI by inviting corporate executives and they are giving tips on how to face/ prepare for the campus drive. Keeping in mind that corporate exposure is pivotal in enhancing the corporate skill, BIMS has nominated 5 members in their Board of Governors and they are playing a vital role for development of the institute.
We have tied up with 3 NGOs who are giving some live project work to our students.
